Unique Friendships
(( Please enjoy the short snippet of a character concept for Sharrys that never fully developed. ))
A figure wrapped in a dark cloak walked into Darnassus. Several strange and suspicious looks were sent her way, but the person was able to produce paperwork of a summons from the Temple of Elune. They did not question the pale skin, but a green glow emanated from beneath the hood that made them frown. Underneath the cloak, the form writhed and they heard a hissing mixed in with the low voice.
It was a simple enough journey to the temple the dominated the city landscape and the person wasted no time in traveling to it. They were met up front by a novice priestess and directed to a temple garden. A woman, a Kaldorei, worked quietly as the novice left. She was tending gently to the plants. The caped figure sighed and kneeled down next to her and began to work. “I’m sure that you didn’t summon me here to help you with your garden, Elyssa.”
Elyssa smiled and pulled up a plant to place in a nearby basket. “You never were patient, Sharrys. Let us enjoy the few moments we get together these days.” They worked in quiet unison. Silence aided the sense of companionship.
Finally, Elyssa spoke again, “You can remove your cloak. None will bother you here. Despite our differences, I would like to say that we’re still friends.” That gentle smile turned towards Sharrys again and made her look years younger in her eyes with the same bright eyes and emerald hair. It’d been a surprise when she’d joined the priesthood over the more druidic path. She seemed very suited for it, but perhaps in the end, she’d been too gentle.
Sharrys complied and with a quick flick of the hand lowered the hood and tossed the cloak to the side. A feathered snake coiled about her torso and laid its head on her shoulder. The serpent raised its head and hissed in protest to the interrupted sleep and a slender paled hand soothed him. Dark hair and vibrant glowing green eyes stared at Elyssa. A Sin’dorei. A slight smile touched at Sharrys’ lips. “Really, Elyssa, why would you call me here? You know they would rather kill me.”
“Because, my old friend, I have a favor to ask of you…” Sharrys’ grin widened, intrigued at Elyssa’s admission.
“You have my life, Elyssa. I pledged that to you long ago and I have not forgotten it.” Elyssa’s hand also rose to pet the serpent on Sharrys’ shoulder.
“I know that, and I was counting on it. I need you now more than ever.”
